Ross Island is just 15 minutes by boat from Port Blair. It used to a kind of “Paris” for British colonial officers, so called because it had luxurieslike a rather small pool. I guess none of them had ever been to the actual Paris. An earthquake destroyed all buildings, and nature took over until it seemed that the remaining walls are held up only by the tangle of tree roots that grew in the ruins.
Had lunch at the Excel Restaurant. Perhaps it runs Windows because the only available dish on the extensive menu was chicken, and the only available drink was lemon juice. Not even rice or bread. It was delicious though.
