What dis you do on New Year’s Eve? I went scuba diving. Arranged a dive trip to Nosy Tanikely, a small island not far from Nosy Be where I am staying. The corals are not the brightest I have seen, but they have swarms of fish, turtles, and a shark. It’s not the season for whales, they get those around October.
The actual New Year celebrations are very low-key. The reataurants and bars have some signs that instruct guests to have an agreeable 2025,that’s it. People don’t come here to party like crazy and wake up the next morning next to a shaved orang-utan. All restaurants and bars have pretty girls outside to rope in guests, and some come on pretty hard, but I am immune because the menu is almost completely alcoholic. Found a bar that serves mocktails though.
