South of Cape Town is a long peninsula, and at its tip is a lighthouse. It’s quite far up, they have a funicular and a lot of steps, meaning it’s in the clouds much of the time and was not in use much for that reason. But the view from up there is great!
The actual Capebof Good Hope is nearby, and the sight is essentially a wooden sign that says “Cape of Good Hope”. People wait in line to have their picture taken.
Halfway back to Cape Town, near Simon’s Town, is a colony of penguins. Not sure why they like it here; the Atlantic ocean is very cold but the air is warm and summer hasn’t even started. The humans have constructed a wooden walkway so that other humans can take pictures.
