Blyde Canyon & Potholes

Blyde Canyin is the third-largest canyon in the world, cut by the Blyde River. There is a trail along the edge of the cliff with great viewpoints. It was a little hazy though. On the other side are the three Rondavels, cylindrical peaks that look like rondavels, the local word for round straw-thatched huts.

A few km down the river are Bourke’s Luck Potholes, where the river has washed out deep cylindrical holes in the rock. Bourke was a gold prospector but he didn’t actually find gold here so the Luck part of the name is unclear.
