Mission accomplished – I have officially been to all 27 EU member countries now. Dublin is the capital of Ireland. It’s cool and cloudy; Irelandbis known as the Green Island and that means it rains a lot.
It’s a surprisingly compact city with a limited number of sights, like Dublin Castle and St. Patrick’s cathedral. Also went to a theater to see the Riverdance show, with synchronized tap dancing so fast that the movements become a blur. How did they get that leg there without it apparently having passed through the space in between?
The city looks rather British with its pubs, restaurants, and pleasant pedestrianized shopping streets that are not chain deserts – but also its occasionally dilapidated homes and industrialized spaces near the river, and the food. I am sure it really shines when it’s sunny!
